The Long Family's Portrait Session
I was beyond thrilled when I got an email from Jen wanting me to do family portraits for them again. Last year, around this same time, we had met up in Riverside Park in La Crosse, Wi. At that time, only one of their daughters was walking. The other one fit perfectly inside of an old vintage suitcase I brought along. Both girls were incredibly easy to work with, and their family was glowing. One of my favorite things about working with kids is that their families usually come back each year, and it's so amazing to see how the kids have grown. I've started this blog post out with a picture of each girl, Kiera and Mya, from last year, compared to a shot from this year. On this particular day, we met up at Norskedalen, just outside of Coon Valley, Wi. It had been awhile since I had done a session at this location, and I was glad to be back. I belong outside in the woods and fields, and it turns out a lot of kids do too! Both girls were now able to run and play and enjoy the autumn sun. Every inch of Norskedalen makes for a perfect background. During their one hour session, we followed Mya and Kiera around as they played and their personalities really shine through in these shots. Autumn in Wisconsin and playful little girls make for a great combo. I look forward to working with your family again next year!
